What's the Difference?



Above is a photo of a street scene, taken around 1912 or so. There was one element of this photo that struck me as being quite different from a typical city street scene of today.

Can you guess what it is?

Not just the men...the women are wearing hats, too.

Hats were a necessary component of being considered fully dressed back then, rather than the mainly utilitarian way they are considered now.

In yea olde times it was also a may of stoping the spread of head lice... was I right though?
